The Association of Nonprofit Specialists is a network of organizations, independent consultants, and other specialists providing management assistance to nonprofits. Many affiliated consultants are based in the greater New York area, and our network also provides services throughout the United States and internationally. For over 20 years, volunteers have presented a variety of educational, professional, and networking programs throughout the year, including major panel presentations on trends and issues, workshops on specific skills, and an annual in-depth Consultants Institute, all aimed at professional development and a stronger nonprofit sector. The Association of Nonprofit Specialists is a 501(c) (3) educational organization.
Mission
The Association of Nonprofit Specialists (ANS) facilitates meaningful connections to peers, clients and information for the management assistance community, in order to strengthen the nonprofit sector.
Recruitment Needs:
The Association of Nonprofit Specialists is currently seeking candidates to serve on the Governance, Program, Finance and Audit, and Marketing and Communications committees. Along with skill-specific expertise for committee interest we are seeking individuals with the following qualifications/criteria:
• Belief in the mission, vision and work of the Association of Nonprofit Specialists
• Understanding of the management assistance nonprofit community and its needs,
• Ability to collaborate, organize and bring positive and focused energy to a group
• Willing to commit time for meetings and special events.
• Prior experience on a nonprofit board a plus.
Expectations of Volunteers:
Time Expectation: 4-8 hours per month, depending on the activity.
Length of commitment: 2 years
