By November 24, 2020No Comments

Brooklyn Community FoundationA free consulting clinic on October 29, 2020 offered grantees of the Brooklyn Community Foundation (BCF) a unique experience. The two-hour virtual event gave nonprofits the opportunity to receive on-the-spot guidance from nonprofit consultants and share best practices and resources with one another.

See below for the recap… in case you missed it.

“The Brooklyn Community Foundation is thrilled to partner with the Association of Nonprofit Specialists to provide essential consulting and coaching services to our grantee partners who are fighting for justice and who are essential lifelines in communities of color. This support is more crucial than ever as these organizations navigate increasingly uncertain times.”
– Amy Chou-Scheikh, Senior Program Officer, BCF

The Association of Nonprofit Specialists created the event to address the immediate needs of organizations, especially as a result of the challenges of 2020. Organizations were invited to submit questions; consultants eagerly signed up to help in their area of expertise.

The virtual event matched 67 nonprofit leaders from 23 organizations with 19 consultants, members of the Association of Nonprofit Specialists. Participants were divided into small groups to allow plenty of time for individual questions and explore topics of interest.

After the event we asked the consultants: Would you do it again? 100% said YES!

Participating nonprofit leaders shared their thoughts on the morning’s program:

“Well organized.”

“Good. Not a deep dive but got the juices flowing.”

“The event felt really friendly and casual and low-pressure — the perfect environment for me to ask questions that might make me feel embarrassed or inadequate/inexperienced otherwise.”

“I thought it was very intentional and helpful”

“Great – insightful and concise – Great networking”

“I believe it is the beginning of a new beginning.”

This is the 2nd Virtual Clinic offered by the Association and the first in partnership with the Brooklyn Community Foundation.
